How to Unsend a Message on iPhone
Sending messages on our iPhones has become an integral part of our daily communication. However there are times when we hit the send button a little too quickly or realize that the content of our message was incorrect or inappropriate. Luckily iPhones provide an option to unsend messages allowing us to undo our mistakes. In this article we will guide you through the process of unsending a message on an iPhone.
Step 1: Open the Messages App
Unlock your iPhone navigate to the home screen. Locate tap on the Messages app which is represented by a green speech bubble icon. This will open the Messages app display your conversations.
Step 2: Select the Conversation
From the list of conversations choose the one containing the message you want to unsend. Tap on its entry to open the conversation.
Step 3: Locate the Message
Scroll through the conversation until you find the message you wish to unsend. Keep in mind that you can only unsend messages that have been sent recently so make sure the one you want to unsend qualifies.
Step 4: Long Press on the Message
Once you’ve located the message long press on it until a pop-up menu appears with various options.
Step 5: Tap on “More…”
Among the options that appear in the pop-up menu tap on “More…” This will allow you to select multiple messages if needed.
Step 6: Select the Message(s)
After tapping on “More…” checkboxes will appear next to each message in the conversation. Tap the checkbox next to the message(s) you want to unsend.
Step 7: Tap on the Trash Can Icon
At the bottom-left corner of the screen you will find a trash can icon. Tap on it to delete the selected message(s). A confirmation message will appear asking if you want to delete the message. Tap “Delete Message” to proceed.
Step 8: Confirm Deletion
Another confirmation pop-up will appear giving you the option to “Delete Message” or “Cancel”. Tap “Delete Message” to confirm the deletion unsend the message.
